Actions Tree Control

Click on the Actions tab directly above the Tree Control Display area to access the Actions Tree Control.

The Action Tree Control lists all action lists along with the corresponding action words in that list.

What are Action Words?

Action words are specific messages you can send directly to a particular user, or to the whole channel. Some actions can only be directed at the entire channel, others can be either simple or directed (requiring that they be directed at another user in the channel ). An example of a simple action is:

WAVE

Double-click on the WAVE action, and the following might display in the message window:

<User> is waving at everyone.

Double-click on an action word. If an action can be directed at a user, a top-level window loads in which you can type the name of the user to which you are directing the action.

The message displayed in response to typing Sysop in the Action Word Window would be:

<User> just gave Sysop a big hug.

If you do not type in a User-ID, the system will attempt to perform a simple action rather than a directed action.

Note: Actions can also be performed directly from the message input field by typing the action word by itself (simple action), or the action word name then the desired recipient of the action (directed action).
